Marshfield Cultural Fair offers ethnic flair, food, fun

kids in costumesLively musicians, colorful dances and authentic ethnic foods characterize the Marshfield Cultural Fair, slated for Saturday, February 25, at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County, 2000 West 5th St. in Marshfield.  

The free event, held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., includes performances by Yid Vicious, a Yiddish klezmer band; Teatro del Pueblo "Adventures of Juan" puppet show; the Ho-Chunk Dancers; and the Lang Polka Band.

Ten-Thousand Villages, a fair trade retailer, and the Children's Activity Center return with story-telling and puppet shows. The Sister City Argentina focus room will feature tango lessons. International foods from China, Mexico, India, and other far away lands will be available.

Celebrate spring and help advance cancer research and education by participating in the American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days.

Visit the American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days website to learn more about this campaign and to donate to Daffodils Days. The site includes a list of daffodil items, including fresh-cut daffodils, Dainty Daffodils and a special Daffodil Days Boyds Bear.

All contributions support ACS efforts to fund cancer research, provide up-to-date cancer information and education, advocate for public health policies that benefit the community and offer free services to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

Daffodils can be ordered online until Friday, February 24, with pick-up on Tuesday, March 13, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Lawton Center Atrium at Marshfield Clinic Marshfield Center.
